The most common questions before applying
-
[1] Do I need to have done NOC to apply as a Mentor?
It's strongly preferred but not strictly required. The role exists to help current NOC students, and lived experience of NOC matters. Applications from non-NOC alumni with deep community ties are reviewed case by case.
-
[2] Can I do the Mentor role while working full-time?
Yes - most Mentors work full-time. The role is structured to fit around a working schedule, with most community moments in evenings and weekends.
-
[3] What's the difference between Mentor and Advisor?
Mentors live at N-House for the academic year and are the day-to-day community presence. Advisors visit a few hours a month - they bring industry context, host workshops, and advise on ventures. Different rhythms; both matter.
-
[4] If I'm not selected, can I reapply?
Yes. Many strong Mentors and Advisors applied more than once. Demand exceeds supply.
