What NUS offers founders

Five things every NUSX founder gets access to

  1. 01

    Space

Desk and meeting access at BLOCK71 Singapore and across our global network. Wherever you're building, there's a room with your name on it.

  2. 02

    Mentorship

Direct access to the operators, investors, and serial founders who've built before you. Not generic advice — specific introductions and tactical guidance.

  3. 03

    Funding

From early grants to translational gap funding to direct investment from the NUSX fund. Real capital, not just connections to capital.

  4. 04

    Global network

A network of NUS founders — past and present alumni who've raised, exited, failed, and built again. The hardest part of building is talking to someone who gets it. We make that part easy.

  5. 05

    Community

Soft-landing in 11 cities across 6 countries through BLOCK71 and the NOC alumni network. You build in Singapore. You scale anywhere.

Incubation network

BLOCK71 is the front door. PIER71 and ICE71 are sector-specific accelerators for founders in maritime and cybersecurity respectively.

  • BLOCK71 space

    Flagship

    BLOCK71

The flagship NUSX incubation network. 11 cities across 6 countries, thousands of ventures supported, and the front door for most NUS founders.

  • PIER71

    Maritime

    PIER71 ↗

Maritime and port-tech accelerator built for founders shaping the future of shipping, logistics, and ocean industries.

  • ICE71

    Cybersecurity

    ICE71 ↗

Asia's first cybersecurity-focused accelerator. For founders building defensive, offensive, or critical-infrastructure security.

FAQ

The most common questions from founders

  1. [1] Do I need to be enrolled at NUS to access programmes?

Most NUSX programmes are open to current NUS students, staff, and recent alumni. A few — like BLOCK71 events and select accelerator tracks — are open to the wider ecosystem. Each programme page lists its exact eligibility.

  2. [2] Who owns the IP if I build inside NUSX?

You do. NUSX programmes are founder-first — you retain ownership of your IP. Where NUS technology or lab research is involved, licensing terms are agreed separately through the tech-transfer office before you build on it.

  3. [3] Can I apply with a co-founding team that includes non-NUS members?

Yes. As long as at least one founder meets the programme's NUS eligibility, your co-founding team can include members from outside NUS.

  4. [4] Do I have to give up equity to join?

No NUSX programme takes equity by default. Direct investment from the NUSX fund is optional and negotiated separately — joining a programme, using BLOCK71, or accessing mentorship costs you no equity.
