About SXF
  1. For what

    Product development, end to end.

Everything needed to scale up a deep tech product. ScaleX can move bench-level proof-of-concept to actual working product. Concept development and architecture, process optimisation, formal product development, pilot and manufacturing, all handled in one place.

  2. For who

    Research, that’s ready to move.

ScaleX is designed for when science is proven, and needs to take the next step into becoming a scalable, working product. Our capabilities support projects across multiple domains.

FAQ

The most common questions

  1. [1] What's the relationship to NGRIP Labs?

SXF and NGRIP Labs share one facility and its equipment. SXF is the engineering and product team you work with; NGRIP Labs is the lab space (Makerspace) and instrumentation alongside it.

  2. [2] What does "TRL 3 to 4" actually mean in practice?

It means you've shown the science works in principle, but not yet as a working product. At TRL 3 to 4, the concept is proven in the lab, a result, a proof of concept, a validated component, and the next step is building it into something that functions outside controlled conditions. That's the gap SXF helps to close.

  3. [3] What happens after I submit the form?

We read it and tell you, honestly, whether SXF is the right fit. SXF staff will process your request and if there is a specialist will reach out to you. and the first conversation is about scope: what you're building, where it is now, and what it needs. If it isn't, we'll say so and point you elsewhere where we can.

  4. [4] Is there a cost? How is the work resourced?

Yes. We typically charge for our services. Our staff will assess the complexity of your request and follow-up with a detailed quote.

  5. [5] What's the typical project length?

It depends from project to project. Project length depends on the scope of work. It can range from a few weeks to a few months or even longer.

Let’s build your breakthrough.

Send us what you're working on. We'll match you with a specialist who can support your build, or point you elsewhere if we don’t have the specific capability required.
