Directness is everything
Israeli teams say what they think, to anyone, immediately. Learn to work that way at the beginning of your career and every meeting you will ever be part of in the future will feel easy.
Spend your NOC term inside an Israeli startup while taking classes at Reichman University. You will learn to think out loud, debate, and defend your position with colleagues more senior than you from day one.

Israel spends more of its economy on research and development than any country in the world, roughly twice what the United States spends, and it has more tech startups for its size than anywhere else. Ten million people, yet ninety companies are worth over a billion dollars. Google, Microsoft, Intel and Apple all run research centres here. You spend your term inside one of the startups this ecosystem produces.
Israeli teams are direct to a degree that lands as rude for about a fortnight. You will be asked what you think and expected to have an answer, and the person who disagrees with you most loudly will buy you lunch afterwards. There is a word for it, chutzpah, and NOC alumni list learning it alongside pitching and public speaking as one of the skills the year gave them. If you have spent twenty years being polite to people more senior than you, this is the hardest and most useful skill you will learn.
The working week runs Sunday to Thursday, and from Friday evening to Saturday evening most of the country stops. That gives you a weekend that lines up with nothing you are used to, and a term with time in it. The desert is two hours south, Jerusalem is one hour east, and the beach is at the end of your street.

Reichman graduates are prolifically entreprenurial, and almost half of their founders met their co-founder at university. You take entrepreneurship classes there alongside your internship.
Israel puts a larger share of its economy into research and development than any other country. They attract the most innovative organisations in the world to learn from their ways.
You take classes on entrepreneurship at Recihman part-time while the internship runs. Four of your thirty-six NOC units come from those classes. The other thirty-two come from your internship.
Reichman opened in 1994 and its graduates have founded hundreds of startups, fourteen of which are worth over a billion dollars. A third were founded while the founders were still students or within two years of leaving,

NOC Tel Aviv placed me inside a startup environment where coursework, internship work, and the local ecosystem all connected. It changed how I think about building companies.
The strongest part was learning beside founders and classmates at the same time. You see how the Israel market works, then bring those lessons back to NUS.
