N-House / Resident Mentor & Resident Advisor

Two roles. One entrepreneurship-themed residence.

N-House is the first entrepreneurship-themed residence on campus. We recruit two distinct roles to support our student entrepreneurs: a Resident Mentor from the innovation and enterprise ecosystem, and a Resident Advisor from current NUS staff. Both are appointed for 1 year, with the option to renew annually.

Role 1 of 2 · Resident Mentor

Resident Mentor

N-House Resident Mentors are the backbone of N-House — they provide invaluable support and guidance to our residents, helping them navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and develop their business ideas. Resident Mentors work very closely with the staff of NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC), student Resident Assistants (RA) and Resident Advisor (RAD) to enhance the residential life experience of our students at N-House, and serve as mentors, advisors, and resource persons to the residents in the areas of entrepreneurship.

Resident Advisor

Common questions

Do I need to have done NOC to apply as a Mentor?

It's strongly preferred but not strictly required. The role exists to help current NOC students, and lived experience of NOC matters. Applications from non-NOC alumni with deep community ties are reviewed case by case.

Can I do the Mentor role while working full-time?

Yes — most Mentors work full-time. The role is structured to fit around a working schedule, with most community moments in evenings and weekends.

What's the difference between Mentor and Advisor?

Mentors live at N-House for the academic year and are the day-to-day community presence. Advisors visit a few hours a month — they bring industry context, host workshops, and advise on ventures. Different rhythms; both matter.

If I'm not selected, can I reapply?

Yes. Many strong Mentors and Advisors applied more than once. Demand exceeds supply.
