B71 China is for founders building on NUS research inside China, for Chinese companies licensing NUS technology, and for Chinese startups moving into Southeast Asia. Suzhou takes AI, biotech, cloud, and smart devices. Chongqing takes advanced manufacturing, AI, logistics, and finance. Guangzhou takes R&D companies arriving from Singapore and beyond.
Apply to the centre that matches your sector: Suzhou inside the NUS Suzhou Research Institute, Chongqing in the Liangjiang New Area, or Guangzhou in the Sino-Singapore Knowledge City. Each centre takes applications year-round and decides locally.
Start with the centre closest to your buyers. Suzhou has incubated more than 100 startups, which have raised RMB 2.7 billion between them. Chongqing runs IP licensing between Singapore and China. Guangzhou was built with the city government to bring R&D companies into the region.
They license NUS technologies through the three centres, which also manage the IP behind them. Chongqing handles licensing between Singapore and China. Suzhou sits inside the NUS Suzhou Research Institute, which puts the research and the companies using it in the same building.
Through B71's bases in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan. A Chinese startup landing in Singapore is picked up by the B71 Singapore team, routed to the centre that fits its stage, and introduced to local investors and corporates. The network has incubated more than 1,600 startups since 2011.
