B71 Japan opened in 2024 and runs two bases: Nagoya at STATION Ai since November 2024, and Tokyo at the Takanawa Gateway Link Scholars' Hub since March 2025. The team helps startups from Southeast Asia sell in Japan, helps Japanese startups sell in Southeast Asia, and brings NUS research to the Japanese companies and universities that want it.
Introductions to buyers, partners, and investors in Japan or Southeast Asia.

Part of a B71 network of more than 1,600 startups incubated since 2011, across six countries.
I worked at B71 Japan’s Nagoya base, STATIONAi, for a few weeks and it was a fantastic experience. The workspace had a great collaborative atmosphere and it was really inspiring to be immersed in that. I also got to meet many local business partners and attend various meetups held at Station Ai, which was a great benefit. I would continue to use B71 Japan as a base to accelerate our expansion in Japan.
We were able to achieve significant results by participating in the Market Immersion Program hosted by B71 Japan. We had individual meetings with end users and investors, participated in exhibitions, and made connections with partners from various industries, which gave us the opportunity to fully expand into the Japanese market. We hope that B71 Japan will continue to foster an ecosystem to support startups and provide a strategic platform for NUS spin-off companies to enter the Japanese market.
