What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time, and similar technologies such as local storage and pixels are used for the same purposes. This policy covers all of them.

This website is operated by NUS Enterprise, National University of Singapore. It complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive and the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Your consent

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies beyond the strictly necessary ones. Nothing in the performance, functional or marketing categories is set until you say yes. Accepting and rejecting take the same single click, and you can pick categories individually under “Manage”.

Your choice is stored for six months, together with the date and the version of this policy you saw. After that, or whenever we change what we ask for, you will be asked again.

Categories we use

Each cookie on this site belongs to one of four categories.

• Strictly necessary — required for the site to work: security, navigation and remembering your consent choice. These cannot be switched off.
• Performance and analytics — anonymous statistics on how visitors use the site, so we can see what works and improve it.
• Functional — remember your preferences and enable enhanced features such as embedded media and forms.
• Marketing — set by our partners to measure campaigns and show relevant content on other sites.

Cookies set by this site

The strictly necessary cookies we set ourselves are:

• nusx-consent — records your cookie choice. Expires after six months.
• nusx-corner — remembers the My Corner page you built so it can be reopened. Expires after thirty days.
• Session cookies — keep you signed in to forms and services you use during a visit. Deleted when you close the browser.

Third-party cookies

Where you have consented, tools from third parties may set their own cookies, for example Google Analytics for performance statistics, or embedded video players and forms for functional features. These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and some are based outside the European Economic Area and Singapore.

We keep the list of active tools under review and update this policy when it changes.

Managing your preferences

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by opening “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent removes the cookies of the categories you refused from your browser, as far as this site can reach them.

Most browsers also let you delete or block cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
